SHRINK FITTING

At Ismec, we perform precision shrink fitting: a controlled thermal expansion technique used to permanently join two components with perfect interference. By heating the outer part to widen its diameter and inserting the inner component the assembly locks into place as temperature returns to normal, ensuring a stable fit.

To meet diverse requirements, Ismec is equipped with multiple heating systems: gas torches, a horizontal sliding heating cabin, and a large shrink fitting electric oven for wide components.

Every stage is handled with strict process control and full traceability to meet the most demanding specifications. Explore our range of services to discover how Ismec can support your manufacturing needs with expertise, efficiency, and proven performance.

We also develop tailored solutions to meet each client’s requirements in any field.

These technologies allow us to carry out shrink fitting and assembling on several mechanical applications:

  • Guide Bearings with Shafts over 15.000 mm long (Naval)

  • Shafts with Rotor Bodies up to 3.000 mm wide (Power)

  • Roll Cores with Sleeves up to 4.000 mm long (Metals)

  • Turbine shafts with propellers and turbine cases (Hydro)

The most part of all this components are entirely manufactured in our workshop following customers projects.

To completion, we take care of any NDT inspections like PT and MT test, according to customer's ITP.
