A Legacy of Precision
In the 1950s, Camillo Baggio began his career as a machinist in small workshops across northern Italy, in the heart of Veneto’s industrial region.
During the 1960s, he emigrated to Melbourne, Australia, as he used to say: “with a suitcase and 50.000 Lire in my pocket”. There, he worked as a turner and mechanical operator in an advanced engineering company, earning a specialization certificate officially recognized by the State of Victoria.
At the end of the decade, driven by the desire to bring his experience back home, he returned to Italy and soon purchased his first machine tool through a small loan, starting his own turning business.
In 1973, he officially founded Ismec, laying the foundations of a company built on skill, perseverance, and a passion for mechanical precision, a legacy that continues to grow today, carried forward by the next generations.
